Rangers are using satellite imagery to support the theme of landscape change over time in the San Francisco Bay, and to illustrate the interplay between people and their habitats. This project is being developed as a model for interpreters who wish to explore use of NASA material in interpreting the overarching theme of change through time at any site. At Golden Gate National Recreation Area, a multi-media program currently under development will introduce visitors to the topic of change over time, followed by an outdoor experience during which visitors become familiar with the natural environment at Golden Gate National Recreation Area. The multimedia program will be posted here when complete. Methodology used to create the multimedia component will be accessible via this web site, and a tutorial provided about how you can create similar programs in your own park. We will also post a description of the outdoor program in some detail.
